Dr. Sun Yuan is a distinguished pediatric hematology specialist and currently serves as the President of Beijing Kyoto Children's Hospital. As a founding member of the hospital, she established the Hematology-Oncology Department from scratch in 2015 and led it to become one of the largest pediatric hematology centers in northern China. With nearly 30 years of clinical experience, she has made groundbreaking advancements in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) for children with high-risk, relapsed/refractory hematological diseases and congenital immunodeficiencies.
Under her leadership, as of May 2025, the hospital has successfully completed nearly 900 hematopoietic stem cell transplantation procedures and over 2,000 pediatric congenital heart disease surgeries. Dr. Sun assumes dual roles as a clinician and administrator, committed to integrating academic rigor, patient-centered care, and innovative hospital management.
